INTRODUCTION

In the days before networked PCs were common place, data was transferred from one PC to another via removable media.

This type of networking has been known as the sneaker net. The sneaker net was initially performed using the 5.25" floppy diskette, then migrated to the higher capacity 3.5" floppy diskettes. Most of Today's PCs have no floppy drives, however there is still an occasional need for the sneaker net. The advent of the USB standard and the flash drive has resolved this issue. The popular dongle type of flash drive can be easily broken or misplaced. Since we all safeguard our wallets and credit cards, why not create a credit card size flash drive?

Walletex has done just that. Here's a short take of this new device, the Wallet Flash, which claims to be the world's thinnest flash drive. Read on for the review!

OVERALL IMPRESSION

Walletex' Wallet Flash is an innovative design which is durable, keeps data for years, and resistant to heat and water. It is definitely a good place to store one's transferable data. One downside is that the extended USB connector could get caught on something and in a worse case, break off. Walletex also offers the ability to print a company logo on the Wallet Flash making it a great marketing giveaway. All in all the Wallet Flash is a good addition to one's wallet.
